American Idol: The Top Twelve 2006

I can't believe I'm still watching this show for the 5th season. No wonder I never made it into Mensa.

The Boys: The only real surprise, from my point of view, was Kevin Covais (aka "Chicken Little"). He's OK, but he does sing with a bit of a lisp that I find annoying. Sounds to me like he may be wearing those kind of "invisible" braces that go behind your teeth.

I actually thought Gedeon was talented enough to make it into the Top Twelve, although he sure is a wierd one - as revealed in the little interview tips. And I was already tired of his "God Bless You" to everything. He kept this up even when Ryan Seacrest was giving him the goodbye kiss, urging his fans to "pray for him". Why do religious people always insist on blessing and praying for everything all the time? If they're so in with God, isn't that a given for them already?

All the rest were pretty much as expected. My odds are on Chris winning, although my personal favorite is Taylor.

The Girls: I was sorry to see Ayla go, and was quite surprised that she fell out. I thought she was an excellent singer, and I liked her back story. I'm tired of seeing trailer trash win AmIdol; I'd like to see someone with poise and class win the show this time around.

My personal favorite is Mandisa, and I predict the final two will be Mandisa and Chris, with Chris winning.
